Tony LeMans
Tony LeMans was a singer and songwriter associated with Prince and signed to Prince's Paisley Park Records.
==Biography==
His self-titled debut album was released in 1989 on that label, and it peaked at #58 on the Billboard R&B Album chart. Three singles were released ("Higher Than High," "Cookie Crumbles," and "Forever More") without much chart success.〔(allmusic ((( Tony Lemans > Overview ))) )〕 Although Prince often worked behind the scenes on albums for his label, he officially played no role in this one.
In 1988, Lemans worked with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis producing several songs for Vanity's third solo album. The completed project was never officially released.
LeMans, an avid motorcyclist, was killed in a traffic accident on June 24, 1992, in Malibu, California.〔(allmusic ((( Tony Lemans > Overview ))) )〕 He had just begun the recording sessions for his second album, which was to feature a Prince composition called "Fuchsia Light." He wrote songs for Donny Osmond's comeback album as well as the Rolling Stones' 1993 release ''Voodoo Lounge''.〔(John Mendel aka Johnny Neurotic:true story )〕 His manager said of LeMans, upon his passing, "(is ) one of those acts that comes around once in a lifetime."〔
